II. iPad App Resources

1. #Storyappchat: This is a weekly Twitter chat that occurs every Sunday at 9 p.m. E.S.T. People who develop or are interested in picture book apps and ebooks talk about all aspects of the business: developing apps, marketing, and more. Sometimes particular authors or developers are guest hosts. Storyappchat's website provides archives of past chats and its Facebook page continues the conversation during the week. Read my article about #storyappchat.

2. Some app and ebook development tools:

Demibooks (@demibooks): provides both an authoring software to make interactive book apps (Demibooks Composer) and a online platform to sell them
BookCreator (@redjumperdan): a simple way to create ebooks for the iPad, resulting in a fixed ePub file that can be submitted to Apple's iBookstore (see my interview with Dan Amos)

Interactive Touch Books (@itouchbooks): an online platform to create and sell interactive book apps

Moglue (@moglue): software that allows one to create and share interactive ebooks for iOS and Adroid devices

UTales (@utales): an ebook and apps publisher that connects readers with a community of authors and illustrators creating picture books
